Grade 1 listed boutique hotel opposite Salisbury Cathedral
Award-winning steakhouse
The Chapter House boasts one of the best steakhouses in the south west, offering house dry aged cuts, handmade pure beef burgers, and marinated racks of ribs. The menu also includes a South African twist with Bobotie and Durban style curries, alongside wines from Stellenbosch and The Hemel en Aarde Valley. Every Sunday, the hotel serves a famous Sunday roast that requires advance booking.
Quirky room designs with original details
All 17 boutique rooms are en-suite with walk-in showers, some also have baths placed in the bedroom itself. Rooms include original panelling, fireplaces, and artwork, along with Egyptian cotton linen and goose down duvets. Family suites are available for larger groups, and the hotel is dog-friendly for pet owners.
At the gates of Salisbury Cathedral Close
The hotel is located directly at the entrance to The Cathedral Close, a three-minute walk from Salisbury Cathedral. It is also a ten-minute drive to Stonehenge, and close to Old Sarum, making it a base for exploring historical attractions. The hotel sells discounted 24-hour parking permits for the nearby Brown Street Car Park.
Family suites and dining for all ages
The hotel offers suites designed for parents and children, providing comfortable accommodations for larger groups. Children can enjoy kids' meals from the restaurant menu, and the hotel provides a family-friendly pub environment. Complimentary breakfast is included for all guests, with options like a full English breakfast.
Grade 1 listed 16th-century building
Parts of the building date back to the 13th century, and it has been an inn for over 450 years. The building retains original panelling, wonky stairs, uneven floors, and exposed beams, all protected by its listed status. The bar area offers a heated outdoor courtyard with snuggly blankets for cooler evenings.
